Beresan Malbec   2011—Walla Walla  WA

dark and opulent Malbec with black cherry and purple plum giving way to violets and mineral notes. the palate showcases ripe strawberry, chocolate covered cherries and sweet tobacco with lingering acidity     11/40-

Beresan Merlot   2012—Walla Walla  WA

Merlot blended with 15% Rocks District Syrah opens with raspberry, cherry, blackberry and spice. notes of currants and ripe red fruits lead to cedar and graphite, finishing with soft tannins and minerality. this is a Cab lover’s Merlot     11/40-

Salcheto Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2016—Tuscany, Italy  (92 pts WS, WE, Decanter)

a rich round red sporting cherry, plum, earth and mineral flavors, backed by a vibrant structure. tannins are assertive, yet folded into the overall body and texture, showing fine length and harmony.   40-

classical blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon displays the terroir of Conner Lee Vineyard in gorgeous form. suave and complex with classical aromatics of currants and dark berries married to new French oak and savory earthiness. deep purple/ruby-colored, it’s a full-bodied, ripe, polished beauty that has loads of black fruits, spring flowers, underbrush, and mint-laced aromas and flavors. it’s a beautiful, elegant, seamless wine from this estate     76-

deep, dark purple in color, with intriguing black cherry, balsamic herbs, coffee, and lightly toasted oak on the nose. harmonious flavors of dark fruit, dried flowers, chocolate, and vanilla yield an exotic, complex character, full bodied with polished tannins. “The great doctrine ‘All men are created equal’, incorporated into the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson, was paraphrased from the writings of Philip Mazzei, an Italian-born patriot, and close friend of Jefferson’s.”       78
